SSPA “Listen to Win” Training – via Zoom

Thursday, April 9, 2026 – 7:00 – 8:15 PM ET

SSPA is excited to be partnering with Swing Left to offer “Listen to Win” virtual training on empathetic listening as part of the Ground Truth program. After the 2024 election, we know we have to get comfortable with talking to voters who don’t agree with us and find ways to engage in more productive ways. The training will teach you how to listen empathetically and give you tips on how to respond when you don’t agree with someone you’re talking to, whether at the doors or on the phone. By the end of this training, you should feel more confident in having these conversations and have some key phrases in your back pocket to engage voters more effectively. Note: This training is not a substitute for the Ground Truth Canvasser Training that will be provided for those who register for a Ground Truth canvass. That training, not this one, will cover important information about how to use the new app and any script updates.

The training is open to all. SSPA particularly welcomes participants from Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district (aka PA-10) especially those from the York area where we will be canvassing as part of the Ground Truth program.

The event is free but sign-up is required.  We’ll send you a registration confirmation message and another reminder the day before. NOTE that the session will not be recorded because much of the benefit of this training is from participating in the breakout rooms, which can’t be recorded.
